Sterilization Critical in Medical Center
A medical center had trouble with surgeons passing through doors while keeping their hands sterile.
PROBLEM
The hospital was facing door issues when it came to the surgeons’ sterilization process.
The doorways to operating rooms and facilities around their building were wood fire-rated doors with physical handles that needed to be pressed to enter the room. Physicians who had sterilized their hands already weren’t able to use the doors without touching them.
SOLUTION
DH Pace recommended installing unique, automatic push-pads and operators, along with new metal fired-rated doors so surgeons didn’t need to use their hands to operate the doors. In addition, the new set up would meet strict sterilization codes for the hospital’s healthcare facilities.
CONCLUSION
Sterilization requirements in high-regulated medical centers can be a key factor in door solution decisions.
